What is the Father Engagement Academy™?

The Father Engagement Academy™ is an online learning platform that provides on-demand training for professionals and volunteers who work with fathers and families. It is designed to support individuals in direct-service organizations, including social workers, program managers, case managers, and volunteers who either lead or plan to start a fatherhood program.

Below are the available courses:

1) Effective Facilitation Certificate™

The Effective Facilitation Certificate™ (EFC) is an on-demand training taught by National Fatherhood Initiative® President Christophet Brown, that helps individuals in building the key characteristics and techniques of effective facilitators. needed to confidently lead NFI programs or other fatherhood initiatives.

2) Father Engagement Certificate™

The Father Engagement Certificate™ is a self-paced, on-demand training that focuses on five core competencies for engaging fathers in programs and services. It provides practical strategies based on the experience of National Fatherhood Initiative® to help professionals more effectively reach and involve fathers.

3) Recruitment & Retention Certificate™

The Recruitment & Retention Certificate™ is an on-demand training led by National Fatherhood Initiative® President Christopher Brown. It presents strategies for creating, implementing, and evaluating a recruitment and retention plan tailored to your organization. The course is self-paced and provides tools and methods to consistently recruit and retain fathers in programs.

4) 24:7 Dad® 4th Edition On-Demand Training

The 24:7 Dad® 4th Edition On-Demand Training is designed for facilitators who will be using the newest edition of the evidence-based 24:7 Dad® program. Delivered by NFI staff, the training covers program implementation and includes interactive components. It may also be used to meet funder or organizational requirements for facilitator training.

5) InsideOut Dad® On-Demand Training

The InsideOut Dad® On-Demand Training prepares facilitators to deliver the evidence-based fatherhood program developed specifically for incarcerated fathers.

The training includes an overview of the program structure, topics, and session content, along with facilitation tips.

6) 24:7 Dad® Key Behaviors Workshop On-Demand Training

The 24:7 Dad® Key Behaviors Workshop On-Demand Training prepares facilitators to run the Key Behaviors Workshop. It offers a shorter version of our 24:7 Dad® A.M. and P.M. programs and with different content. The workshop helps dads develop a set of 12 behaviors to become the best fathers possible.

This training explains the program format, session topics, and facilitation guidance.

7) Understanding Dad™ On-Demand Training

The Understanding Dad™ On-Demand Training prepares facilitators to deliver the Understanding Dad™ program. A unique program that helps moms improve the relationships they have with fathers, for the benefit of their children.
